A Complete Setup Guide for Discourse on DigitalOcean

Change SMTP

Note that changing SMTP or any config is required to rebuild the app. This process will keep the current data and database intact.

Log in to the console via Putty.

Run:

cd /var/discourse
./discourse-setup

Change the setting accordingly including the SMTP address, port, username and password. Once in the end, it will rebuild the app.

Note: It will take a while to rebuild the app.
